Period 6 - Final Exam

1.       My favorite animated film is Big hero 6.
2.       Big Hero 6 is my favorite film because the storyline is incredible. The story is funny, yet saddening and plays with the audience’s feelings. The audience is able to connect with the story. For example, the death of the protagonist’s brother Tadashi. I also enjoyed the film because of the superb drawings and vibrant colors. I also love the characters in this film. The personalities of the different characters balance out the whole film.
3.        Our teacher’s favorite animated series is Peanuts.
4.        On Mr. Farley’s post from January 12th of this year, he stated “I loved Peanuts when I was the age that my children are now. I still enjoy reading the comic strip and watching the animated programs.”
5.        Mr. Farley likes the Peanuts series because he visited the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California, had us research the Peanuts series, and stated that he loved Peanuts the animation on his blog.
6.       My best work this year was the last animation. I have learned a lot about the software, so my animation, The Lunny, reflects most of what I have learned this year. My animation has a lot of color and the setting is very detailed.
7.       My last animation is called The Lunny. It is about an animal that is part lion and part bunny. At school, he was always made fun of for being different so he stopped going to school. Lonely, sad, and depressed, he died by himself. THE END.
9.       I really like the setting of my story. I spent lots of time drawing a detailed setting. I also like the many colors and the personalities of the different characters.
10.  Jaeyun Seo aka Stella created my favorite final project in period 6. It is incredibly cute and has an amazing storyline.
11. In the digital classroom, food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom or on the tables. Always be on time and on task. Have your sketchbook every day with you. Be helpful and participated in class and with your group. Problem solve and identify problems.

Animated Frog Jumping

This is an animation of a frog jumping on a lily pad!
I deserve a 3 in the Brushwork and Fills category because the whole entire animation is colored and is not white. The color of the frog and background is consistent throughout the whole animation. I also deserve a 3 in the Frame Sequencing category because the action of the frog jumping is smooth and not too choppy. I deserve a 3 in the background category because I drew in a background instead of just putting a random color in as a background. The background is consistent for the entire duration of the animation.

Wonder Woman Logo - Balance

The Wonder Woman logo demonstrates the first principle of design. There is a distribution of visual weight and space throughout the logo. The elements are balanced and allow the logo feel stable. The logo feels stable because the letters' size and depth are constant throughout the logo. This is an example of an asymmetrical balance because even though the sides are different, it still looks balanced. The logo is an example of an asymmetrical balance because if you cut the logo in half, both sides are different.

Animate Key Frame Frog

1. I used action script 3.0.
2. I chose to use action script 3.0 because action script 3.0 is newer than action script 2.0. Action script 3.0 is an upgraded version of action script 2.0.
3. I copied the photo from the website and pasted it onto flash and fixed the dimensions to fit the stage. Here are 2 examples of my work.

4. Richard Williams hand drew his animations and worked on the films The Pink Panther and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
5. I researched him on the Google search engine.
6. The stage was 550 by 400 when I opened it.
7. I used Adobe Flash because it is the only software on our computer that can animate.
8. I used 4 layers including the copied picture from the internet. After I finished tracing the frog I deleted the layer with the copied picture. The second layer is for the frog itself. The next layer is for the background water and the last layer is for the lily pad.
9. For the background, I made most of it blue so that it would look like water. I also drew in a lily pad so that the frog would have something to jump on.
10. We created a frog because it has online instructions for us to learn from.
11. I clicked file then export then export image and then saved it.
12. I created 35 frames.

Act III
Both girls upset that the other chose the same shirt, began to bicker back and forth claiming that their shade of blue is better. Chester finally comes to break the fight up. He breaks the news and tells them that his birthday was last month and his favorite color is not blue, but gray.

Spock - That One Character From Our Past (2)

Spock: Go easy on the shopping.
Amity: Excuse me?
Spock: I said that you should stop shopping.
Amity: But shopping is my life!
Spock: I predict that in the future, your hands will be wrinkled from holding so many shopping bags. You will be broke and will live on the street.
Amity: I cannot not shop!
Spock: Well, there will be consequences.
Amity: Fine, I will try to shop less, but I am not promising anything!

Spock - That One Character From Our Past

Amity: Hey Maia!
( Maia comes close to Amity, but does not say anything)
Amity: Earth to Maia! Are you alright?
(Maia continues to close in on Amity and stares at her)
Amity: Maia you're freaking me out!
Maia: I'm sorry.
(Maia puts both of her hands up and reaches to try to touch Amity)
(Spock arrives and pulls out his gun)
Spock: Back away creature!
Maia: I am her friend. What creature are you talking about?
(Maia reaches for Amity's face again)
(Spock grabs Amity and puts her behind him)
Amity: What creature are you talking about? Maia is my friend!
(Amity tries to go back to her friend)
(Spock shoots Maia)
Amity: *gasp. What in the world did you do?
Spock: This is not your friend.
(The creature revealed its true form as it laid on the floor. It had a shaggy coat a vacuum like mouth.)
Amity: Thank you so much! But where is the real Maia?
Spock: Don't worry. Maia is safe at home. The creature just decided to take her form.
(Amity sighs in relief)
Amity thanks the stranger once again. She heads home and continued to think about the mysterious encounter.

Amity's story

The photographer adjusted his camera lens and then continued to snap pictures as Amity posed for the camera. "Last one...And that's a wrap!" the photographer said cheerfully. Amity walked off the set and thanked the staff. She was extremely delighted that her first photo shoot went so smoothly. After all, she was studying towards an modeling degree. As she walked towards the photographer to thank him, she saw a label on the camera with the name Joshua Crowe on it. "Why would the name Joshua be on the camera?" Amity wondered. She remembered that the photographers name was Jack. She continued to wonder about the strange incident as she walked towards her car. Suddenly a hand clamped over her mouth and then all she saw was darkness.

Period 6 Semester Final

1) I believe I deserve 100% on the Elements of Art project. I spent lots of time and effort to produce each one of the drawings. A clear description is written for each element of art. The drawings focus on each element of art.

2) I believe I deserve 100% on the Principles of Design project, no more and no less. Each drawing is full of color to capture the attention of the viewer. Each drawing is proportional and balanced. A lot of time is spent to create the principles of design.

3) Alice's Wonderland was a part of the Alice Comedies which were a series of shorts. The Alice comedies was unique because there was a real live character in an animated world.

4) In 1928, Steamboat Willie was released. This was important because it introduced Mickey Mouse, the mascot of Walt Disney.

5)In 1932, Flowers and Trees was release by Walt Disney, This animation was unique because it was the first colored film.

6) Snow White and the Seven Dwarves was released in 1937. This was the first full-length cel-animated feature film released.

7) Pinocchio was released on February 23, 1940.

Principles of Design

Principles of Design

Balance is used to make a design feel more stable. It is the distribution of color, space, texture, and the visual weight of an object.

Emphasis is a part of a design that grabs the onlooker's attention. The artist would make one area stand out by making it different in size, texture, shape, or color.
Movement is the route the viewer's eye takes when looking at a work of art.

Patten is a design that has a repeating object or symbol.

Repetition is similar to pattern and works with pattern, but is used to make the piece of art seem active.

Proportion creates unity within a piece of art. The feeling of unity is created when all parts (size or amount) relates with each other.

Rhythm is one or more elements of design used repeatedly to create an organized feeling.

Variety is used to grab the viewer's attention by using multiple elements of design.

Unity creates harmony and a sense of completeness between all the parts of a work of art.
